2021 Maserati Quattroporte

Overview

For anyone in search of a high-end luxury sedan, the 2021 Maserati Quattroporte fits the bill in more ways than one. As a testament to Italian automotive design, the Quattroporte’s racy exterior is sportier than some two-door sports cars you’d find on the market. The curvaceous exterior is matched by an interior brimming with luxurious details, including several varieties of leather upholstery and available sound system upgrades from Harman Kardon and Bowers & Wilkins. New for 2021 is a frameless 10.1-inch variant of the Quattroporte’s touch screen interface, which also includes a voice-activated virtual assistant for hands-free duties. Other features include a Wi-Fi hotspot for further connectivity options and access to Amazon Alexa services.

The Perfect Ride For…

The nonconformist. One look at the 2021 Maserati Quattroporte and it’s obvious how it boldly stands out from the typical offerings in the high-end luxury sedan segment. You’ll find several flavors of Quattroporte, starting with the S trim level and its luxury-oriented GranLusso and athletic GranSport variants. The Quattroporte S Q4 adds the Q4 intelligent all-wheel drive system for improved all-weather performance. Meanwhile, the Quattroporte Trofeo adds more aggressive styling marked by carbon fiber trim, red-accented fender vents, a distinctive front grille, and V8 power, among other features.

Drive and Handling

The 2021 Quattroporte backs its seductive looks with a pair of engines worthy of Maserati’s racing heritage. First up is the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, which packs a 424-horsepower punch in the regular, GranLusso, and GranSport varieties of the Quattroporte S and S Q4. The rear-wheel drive-only Trofeo features a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with an outstanding 580 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. The end result is a 0-to-60 time of 4.2 seconds and a 203-mph top speed. Regardless of the chosen engine, an eight-speed automatic transmission helps funnel power to the appropriate wheels. Both engines also offer a sonorous exhaust note that’s befitting of the exotic marque.

The Skyhook suspension system underpins the 2021 Quattroporte’s handling prowess and ride quality. The system features continuous shock absorber damping for optimal performance on demanding switchbacks, all without sacrificing the sedan’s smooth ride. Combined with a chassis boasting 50:50 weight distribution, the Quattroporte makes an impressive dance partner on winding roads.

Key Features

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems

You’ll find greater peace of mind during each drive thanks to the 2021 Quattroporte’s roster of advanced safety and driver-assistance features. These include the Level 2 autonomous Highway Assist System, which helps drivers maintain lane position while adding with steering, acceleration, and braking on highways and limited access freeways. Others include Active Blind Spot Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go.

Comfort Luxury Rear Seats

The 2021 Quattroporte’s available individual heated and ventilated rear seats will make anyone feel like royalty. Finished in smooth-grain drilled leather, both seats are separated by a luxurious center console with built-in controls for the available four-zone climate control system, as well as additional controls for the rear and side window electric sun shades.

Nerissimo and Nerissimo Carbon

Select 2021 Quattroporte models come available with the Nerissimo and Nerissimo Carbon packages, both designed to give the Italian four-door a darker, more aggressive look and feel. Both packages achieve that through a variety of trim changes, including exterior carbon fiber, high-gloss piano black wood trim and darkened details in place of chrome brightwork.
